Dossey, Larry - The Art of Healing 1
27m
A key element in any healing process is the capacity of each patient to see their own unique meaning in events. In part one of this two part program, Dr. Larry Dossey describes several case histories in which this quality of meaning was crucial to understanding the disease process. He concludes by talking about the role of consciousness and the concept of oneness.
In part two, he discusses the role of prayer in healing, maintaining that studies now indicate that prayer can be efficacious. The type of prayer that is shown to be most effective involves an altered state of consciousness. Dr. Dossey then refers to the studies of Lawrence LeShan that emphasize the healer becoming at one with the patient. He concludes by suggesting that all true healing involves the spiritual nature of men and women.
